Reviews

“This book was truly incredible. [Weiland] does such a great job of keeping the reader turning the pages. There’s something in this book for everyone: there is enough action to satisfy the adventure lover; enough impossible awakening love to satisfy the romantic; enough research to satisfy the historian, enough intrigue, betrayal and murder to satisfy the mystery lover, and enough mercy and forgiveness to satisfy the Christ-follower.” Read Full Review Online

Jeannie Campbell, The Character Therapist

“I consider literary-induced insomnia, inspiring writing, and mild fictional character obsession the marks of a great story. K.M. Weiland's thrilling historical fiction novel, Behold the Dawn, provides all of the above.... Great writing is equal parts verbal artistry and analytical detail, and Ms. Weiland covers both beautifully in this story. Behold the Dawn is sweeping and vast in scope yet character-driven and focused. The plot moves along swiftly, filled with action that crackles off the pages. The author's emotional investment in her characters is obvious, as is her pure enjoyment in the craft of writing. Battle-weary, honorable Annan, strong and faithful Mairead, and loyal, entertaining Marek are well-developed, realistic characters who held my sympathy tightly in their hands.” Read Full Review Online

“I look for simple pleasures in a book—good dialogue, an interesting story, some action or mystery and a touch of romance. KM Weiland provided all of that and more in Behold the Dawn. She has a lyrical voice and a way with words, mixing the old with the new in just the right blend. Marcus Annan is a compelling, tragic character, struggling against dark knights, darker men of the cloth, and darkest still, his own inner demons. Throughout the tourneyer’s ordeal, the reader is taken from scene to vivid scene by a writer who did her homework and presents the period with a keen eye. Behold the Dawn is an excellent read from start to finish.” Read Full Review Online

“I’ve always enjoyed knights in shining armor stories since I read my first King Arthur story. Ms. Weiland didn’t disappoint me with her work here. The hero wasn’t wearing shining armor but he was a knight, a knight conflicted with his past which was effecting his present and even possibly his future. The amount of research had to be enormous and it showed in the details of characters, location and era. I have a pile of favorite books that I don’t share, that sit beside my desk where I can pick them up and relive them again. Of all the books I’ve read through my many years, this is only the seventh that is in that pile which puts it in a category of its own.” Read Full Review Online
