Behold the Dawn by K.M. Weiland

I loved it. It is one of those books you think about even after finishing. Can’t wait for the movie. — Lara Luke

This book was truly incredible. [Weiland] does such a great job of keeping the reader turning the pages. There’s something in this book for everyone: there is enough action to satisfy the adventure lover; enough impossible awakening love to satisfy the romantic; enough research to satisfy the historian, enough intrigue, betrayal and murder to satisfy the mystery lover, and enough mercy and forgiveness to satisfy the Christ-follower. — Jeannie Campbell

Normally I don’t like war stories, but there are always exceptions. What makes the difference goes beyond the blood-and-guts of everyday combat. The author of such a novel cannot help but show it in the background, but some other element must take center stage to capture my interest. An element that involves character. K.M. Weiland's book, Behold the Dawn, is such a war story. — David D. Kissling, Colorado

I love stories about redemption, and this was definitely no exception. The characters are so real (and enjoyable to read about). I was so impressed by the love story. I loved the storyline. And the ending. And the moral. It was awesome. — L.U., Tennessee

As you turn the last page, it is hard to remember the story is only fiction, that the people are not real and living out their lives somewhere. — A.U.

This is the kind of history lesson I wish I had received in school. You were literally transported to that time and could really get a feel of the culture and life those people lived. Very well written and fast moving; I think I finished it in two days! — C. Estrella

K. Weiland has produced a well informed and well researched historical novel here. We’ve got the authentic historical setting, the events and the society. We’ve got the fictional characters, the good guys and the bad guys (and those in between). We have depth of character, personal growth and spiritual progress. We have the variety in the broad sense, with the plot remaining fairly straightforward. It's almost a relief to read such a steady and reliable book as this. — S. Woomert, Idaho

Behold the Dawn is a novel set in the Third Crusade by talented author K.M. Weiland. With brilliant characterization, description and settings, this woman knows how to write. Weiland brings her characters and the world around them to life. As you turn the last page, it is hard to remember the story is only fiction, that the people are not real and living out their lives somewhere. — Lorna G. Poston, Missouri

As usual, Weiland is as deft with words as the swordsmen in her book are with their weapons. With her words, she paints characters, scenes, and confrontations with an accomplished writer's authority…. K.M. packs more action into each chapter than many authors offer in an entire book. — Shaddy

Every now and then a story comes along that will not let us go. Characters create such a strong persona and presence that we can’t forget them. Behold the Dawn, by author K.M. Weiland, is such a story. — Naomi Musch

I really enjoyed the book A Man Called Outlaw. The book is very thought provoking on several issues that are current in everyday life. The book ended too soon for me. I wanted the story to continue. I am so respectful of your talent. — M. Tapp

“The weak fall and the strong conquer.” These are the opening lines of A Man Called Outlaw, the first offering by up and coming author K.M. Weiland. One of the most compelling reads in years, this book takes place in the frontier, and centers around a young man, his adoptive father, and a mysterious man from the past known only as the Outlaw. I found the book to be one of the most enjoyable I have read in years. The story is well thought out, and very readable, but where it really shines is in the area of character. The different approaches to the simple question of what is right and wrong are framed so beautifully, that any reader will be challenged to think about their world, and world view. I see that as one of the most remarkable things about this book, because a novel which prompts thought is one of the rarest things in current and recent literature. “The weak fall, and the strong conquer,” is true in literature as in life, and this book I believe will continue to conquer for years to come. The ITEM Magazine
