Giveaway! Win a Gorgeous Handmade Metal Bookmark

Storming K.M. WeilandYou know me: I never need very much of an excuse to do a giveaway! And I know you guys: you never need very much of an excuse to participate in a giveaway! So what’s the excuse this time? To celebrate the December 4th release of my historical/dieselpunk adventure novel Storming, I’m going to be running prize drawings every week this month, culminating, of course, in the biggest prize box yet on launch day.

The Prize

Today, I’m super-excited to announce the generous folks over at Skura Design (and Etsy shop) are offering a unique handmade metal bookmark. Here’s what mine looks like:

Isn’t it gorgeous? It adds a touch of class to whatever book your reading. From Skura’s webpage:

This bookmark is a part of our bookmarks series that are made from archaic material – brass, curved with special acid, soldered by hand and polished with great attention and love.

  1. I am using little plastic leaves that can be closed within the book completely so that my toddlers don’t lose my place by dropping the bookmark when they “read” my books. Since I always have upwards to 15 books going at once, I always have a need for bookmarks!

  2. Usually anything on hand… pencils, most commonly. 🙂

  3. One of those photo bookmarks you get with one of my kids’ school picture on it. But I’ve used the bookstore receipt.

  4. Lauren Gunter says:

I use…my fantastic memory. Also magnetic owl clips. 🙂

  5. Right now I’m using a cute bookmark of a horse for one book, and some dumb cartoony bookmark from when I was a kid for the other book.

  6. A torn envelope that a piece of random insurance mail arrived in. I do own bookmarks, but I tend to grab whatever’s at hand.

  7. a pen… another pen… still another pen… a receipt… maybe one more pen and… that’s about it! Never can have too many pens when you’re needing to take notes.

  8. A Uno card. I kid you not!! LOL!!

  9. How sad. A dental appointment card. lol

  10. This would be the perfect Christmas present for one of my friends. ^_^

  11. So cool, Katy 🙂 These look so cool!

  12. A copper Page Point from Levenger.

    • Oh I LOVE Levenger Page Points. My tin of them is on my desk at work, though, so I never have them at the house when I need them. I mostly use them for textbooks, I should get another tin for my home reading.

  13. They are lovely!

Is this only for your American followers? (Many of the contests I see online are, that’s why I ask. 🙂 )

  14. Usually I’m one of those horrible people who just flips a book over. But right now I’m in the middle of so many, I subconsciously decided I needed some. I have a receipt, a baby headband from my daughter, and a pull cord from a ceiling fan.

  15. My bookmark is a lamenated copy of my wife’s grandfather’s obituary that they gave out at his funeral (because he loved to read). He was a great man!
