Storming’s Launch Day! Win Prizes!

Sometimes Even Pilots Have to Wing It Storming A Dieselpunk Adventure K.M. Weiland

Time to get this party started! Today is the Launch Day for my fourth novel Storming, a historical/dieselpunk mashup that is dear to my heart for a lot of reasons:

1. I had probably more fun writing it than I have any of my other books.

2. Which makes sense, since I think you’ll find it the most objectively “fun” story out of anything I’ve written to date (but don’t worry, you’ll still get all your angsty characters in search of redemption, blood-and-thunder stakes, and what my totally prejudiced brain insists is the most adorable romantic subplot I’ve written yet).

3. Its setting (western Nebraska), if not the time (1920),  is very familiar to me, which was a blast for a change. (I’ll take you on a tour of the real-life settings here.) So I get to show you around my favorite places along the way.

4. It’s got biplanes!

5. For the first time ever, it combines my two genres–historical and speculative–by tossing in a fun dose of dieselpunk. (What’s dieselpunk? Think steampunk, but set between the World Wars instead of the Victorian period.)

All of this means I’m beyond pleased to finally get to share the book with all of you who have been eagerly (and patiently) waiting for it!

Where Can I Buy the Book?

You can purchase the book in paperback or the Kindle, Nook, and Kobo formats. And if you really, really want the paperback and can’t just decide, I’m trying something new this time around: if you buy the paperback from Amazon, you’ll get the Kindle version free via their MatchBook program.

(Don’t have a Kindle but want to take advantage of the cheaper e-book options? No problem. You can read Kindle books off your computer, iPhone or iPad, or Android, using their respective Kindle apps.)

You can read the summary here, read the first chapter here, and watch the trailer here.

As always, I’m celebrating the book’s launch with PRIZES! So please join the party. There will be hourly prizes all day today and fun stuff all week (including daily games–with more prizes–on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+), culminating  in the Grand Prize Bundle.

Grand Prize

In the past when you guys have voted on prizes, you’ve always (totally reasonably) chosen the Kindle over the gift box. But I love gift boxes. So why shouldn’t we get the best of both worlds?

Win a Kindle and More!

This time, I’ve put together a huge prize bundle. One lucky winner will receive:

  • A brand-new Kindle (six-inch touchscreen)
  • Signed paperback editions of all my novels, including:
  • A $25 Amazon gift certificate (so you can stock that Kindle right away!)
  • A Steampunk Dial Pocket Watch (comes with a leather cord, so you can wear it as a necklace as well)
  • Replica JN-4D Biplane (as featured in the book)
  • Leather-Bound Journal
  • Cafe La Llave Espresso Coffee Brick (the best coffee)
  • Donckels Cocoa-Dusted Belgian Truffles (the best chocolate)

And a really heartfelt congratz for this day, I think and wish this feeling of finally publishing your fav novel (you have written it so it should be at least yours 😉 ) and giving it to others to read never get old.
Well, since I am finally one-step closer to that day myself, I can only anticipate the excitement you are feeling. 😀
And can’t wait to read this storm that has caught in your blog. *tucking down the table*.

  4. The plane

  5. The Amazon gift card.

  6. Thank you so all so much! I can’t wait for you to enjoy the book–and I hope you have fun in the drawing!

  7. Mrs. Weiland, I was just wondering, do you think a teenage boy would like “Storming”? I haven’t yet read “Behold the Dawn” or “Dreamlander” yet, though they are both on my kindle.

    • K.M. Weiland says:

I do! There’s lots of action and adventure aspects that would be appealing to that demographic. I know lots of boys who have enjoyed my books in general and a few who have already put their stamp of approval on this one.

  8. Great book, so it deserves a great launch. 🙂

  9. Clayton Webb says:

Storming is at the top of my list, can’t wait to dig in!

  10. Storming is an incredible story. Can’t wait to re-read it in paperback form!

  11. Peter de Tagyos says:

The Kindle caught my eye first, but the entire bundle is epic!

  12. I’m looking forward to reading this some day. Looks very exciting.

  13. Yay! This is so exciting, I’m gonna blow up!!!

    • Hi. I’ve never used a Kindle! But I’ve longed for one. Congratulations on your new book. How do I enter your Kindle gift box contest?

      • K.M. Weiland says:

All you have to do is select your entry options from the Rafflecopter widget at the bottom of the post above. One of the ways to enter is by posting a comment, so you’ve already done that. All you need to do now is log your entry in the widget.

        • I loved your synopsis on Amazon, for “Storming.” It looks like a great story. Really like the synopsis, really draws readers in before they get hold of the book. I hope it will be in the library sometime, so I can read it.

          • K.M. Weiland says:

Thank you! That’s really great to hear. Everyone here was fabulous about giving input on it a few months ago.

  14. What a wonderful gift box! I am with you…love gift boxes! I noticed Storming first…probably because my mind is a little obsessed with it right now 🙂 But then the red journal did and then the pocketwatch… which I couldn’t figure out what it was till I read the description.
Happy LAUNCHING… may Storming fly high for you.

  15. All of the prizes caught my eye actually, but especially the books, the Amazon gift card and the pocket watch. One question about this contest though. If my name were to be drawn for the Dreamlander ebook, would I be able to get Behold the Dawn instead? I already own Dreamlander. 🙂

  16. derricodenise says:

Congratulations on your book release! And thank you for the chance to win all the cool prizes! I’ve never tried that coffee before. Looks good!

  17. Michael Warner says:

Well, the Kindle sort of shouted from the page, but the Amazon gift card and copies of your books really hooked me.

I pre-ordered _Storming_, so got into it right away. Really enjoyed _Dreamlander_ and _Behold the Dawn_, and
am expecting wonderful things from this one.

    Blessings,

P.S. Now all I have to do is get back to my projects and get them into circulation.
Thanks for your guidance and inspiration.

  18. The books definitely caught my eye. Congrats on the new release!

  19. Sally Treanor says:

The bi-plane for my son. 🙂 The rest for me! I’m sick in bed and FINALLY reading STORMING today. I’m so excited!

  20. Signed paperback copies of your novels is what definitely grabbed my attention first. Then of course the Kindle and the leather journal. I have to admit though, that bi-plane replica sounds awesome!

I can’t wait to read “Storming”!
