Who Won the Grand Prize Drawing?

First, I want to take a moment to thank you all for your support and enthusiasm for Dreamlander. Thank you for making the launch a success! The book would never have reached #1 in its category in the Kindle store without you.
I’ve already heard about people who have started reading it! Your kind words and excitement have been a tremendous blessing to me. Thank you.
And now the news you’ve all been waiting for!
The winner of the Grand Prize Drawing is . . . Francois Cote.
Congratulations, Francois! You will be receiving your choice of the prizes: a Kindle Fire, a replica rapier, or the Deluxe Fantasy Gift Box.
Again, a huge thank you to everyone who participated!

And, in other news, don’t forget that even though Dreamlander’s launch is officially over, the Photo Contest continues with the chance to win more great prizes! After you’ve purchased your copy of Dreamlander (paperback or digital), snap a creative photo of the book (or your e-reader with the book’s cover displayed on the screen) and post it to either Pinterest or Facebook. Be sure to email me the link, so I can find and acknowledge your entry.
On December 31st (plenty of time for those of you who prefer hard copies to order and receive the book), I will be selecting the most creative photo and awarding the winner a $40 gift card bundle, featuring certificates from AmazoniTunesStarbucks, and What the Dickens?. Good luck!

  1. I am wondering what happens to the other prizes… 🙂 There was never any information given about that.

    Just Curious

  2. Dreamlander. Wish I wrote that book.

  3. Congrats Francois! (Wish I were you!) Enjoy your prize! And thanks to K.M. Weiland for such an awesome opportunity and the push to get the book this week. Cheers!

  4. @Curious: Save for the hourly prizes given away on Sunday, there was only one winner. He was given a choice between the three different prizes. Sorry for any confusion!

@Walter: Thank you! I take that as quite a compliment. 🙂

@Amelia: Thanks for participating! And, don’t worry, there will be more big drawings in the future, I have no doubt! 😀

  5. I was hoping for one of those hydraulic firearms as a prize.

Oh well, I guess I could always buy a Super Soaker…

  6. Hah! Maybe next time. :p

  7. Thanks for one of the most interesting and engaging promos and contests I’ve seen in a long time!

  8. Thanks for participating so enthusiastically!

  9. Thanks for a really great contest/promo. Keep up the great work (great site/great podcast/great books)

(Not just saying that because I won) 🙂

  10. It was a ton of fun for me too! Congrats to you for winning and thanks to everyone who helped make it a success.

  11. Pick the rapier; pick the rapier! JK…LOL! Congrats to Francois! (and please tell us what prize you choose *grin*)

  12. The rapier may have to show up as a prize in another drawing one of these days, since everyone seemed to like it so much! Francois, however, chose the Kindle.

  13. The rapier was VERY tempting, but in the end I chose the Kindle.

I’ve been wanting one for a long time, but being a responsible dad and hubby, I’ve put it off. I couldn’t pass up the chance to have one 🙂

I’ll be reading Dreamlander on it 🙂

(and re-reading Outlining Your Novel: Map your way to success. I’ve got a WIP almost finished and another I want to get cracking on!)

  14. I’m sure you’ll love it. My (now very outdated – how’d that happen in just a year???) Keyboard Kindle is fantastic. Don’t know what I ever did without it.

  15. Oh I will. 🙂

It will be a huge step up from reading on my old iPhone 3Gs.

I’ve been doing a happy dance most of the afternoon.

  16. I would totally have taken the Kindle. That being said you could always throw in a Sonic Screwdriver that’s infinintly useful no matter where you are in the universe but then you’d be promoting someone else’s story. Nevermind.

  17. @thebigguyinSF: If I knew where to get one, I’d do it!

  18. Congrats to the winner! It looks like I’ll be requesting a Kindle Fire for Christmas still, but that’s the nature of contests this big.

  19. Congrats, Frank! 🙂 I really wanted the rapier set (I have the perfect place for it in my office), but alas…. ;_;

  20. @Chihuahua: I’ll put in a good word with Santa! 😉

@Nona: We might just do another rapier drawing one of these days.
