Win a Reader Care Package!

READER CAREPACKAGE

Hey! Remember me? I think maybe we should reintroduce ourselves.

Hi Again

I already know who you are. You’re the totally awesome person who subscribed to my mailing list to receive updates and other goodies about my historical and speculative novels–including Behold the Dawn and Dreamlander.

I, on the other hand, am the one who has been sadly neglecting you all this time. But I figure it’s never too late to remedy that! In the future, you can expect to hear from me on a weekly basis. I’ll be sharing some behind the scenes info about my previous books as well as what I’m working on now. There will be peeks into what books, movies, music, gadgets, and adorable animals currently have my attention. And who knows what else!

I’m totally looking forward to it. (Why did we never do this before?) To get things off to the right start, let’s begin with your favorite—and mine: a giveaway!

This week only, I’ll be giving away a fantabulous Reader Care Package.

Win a Reader Care Package!

It includes:

  1. I love your stories and writing tips! Diligence, perseverance, and excellence shine in all you do … as well as a pinch of mischief and a dash of eclectic-cool.

    • K.M. Weiland says:

Well, gee whiz. That’s a load of super-nice compliments. 🙂 Thanks, Susan! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the books and posts!

  2. Loved reading your posts about story structure, and character arcs. They’ve really helped me sort out my outline, thanks so much! 🙂

  3. Short Stories! I would LOVE to hear your thoughts, tips and advice on writing short stories!

    • K.M. Weiland says:

You know, I write (and read) shorts so seldom, it isn’t something I feel particularly qualified to write about. I always recommend Joe Bunting’s book Let’s Write a Short Story.

  4. You have a nice sense of style!

  5. Thanks for hosting the giveaway. I’ve been looking forward to reading one of your books. It would be amazing to win all of them.

K.M. Do you have any advice on pitching to agents?

  6. Are you going to write a sequel in Lael? I feel like I know the place. Even if you don’t continue the same characters, I think some of us would like to read tales of the other Gifteds and their Searchers. Please consider it.

    • K.M. Weiland says:

As a matter of fact, I only *just* got hit with an idea that I really, really love for a Dreamlander sequel. Can’t wait to start working on it!

  7. Annie Hawthorne says:

I’m so excited about this new development! Thank you for hosting the giveaway. I’d love to hear more about your life as a published author–the pros and cons, as well as tips for managing your time regarding writing, keeping up with your website, and social media. 🙂

    • K.M. Weiland says:

Thanks, Annie! Pros and cons of a published author sounds like a fun one. Adding it–and the others–to the list!

  8. Ronnell Gibson says:

Love your posts! Many of them are archived in my “writers notes” file. Thanks for the opportunity to win a great goodie basket!!

  9. Jennifer HJ says:

Thank you for all you have done to help me as a writer. I regularly listen to your podcast. Also the structuring your novel workbook is helping me with writing my first book!

  10. Wow, what an awesome giveaway! The blanket is a nice touch, can’t read without a comfy blankie. I’ve been following your other blog for some time now, but only just discovered this one. Very excited to see what you’re up to.

  11. I do not write any more. I have a good friend who loves to write and read, and I am submitting to help her!

  12. Your books and writing advice are TOP STUFF! I recommend you to all my friends and writing buddies. Thanks, K.M., for all the encouragement and pleasure you’ve given me.

  13. You said, “… posting just as regularly over at Helping Writers Become Authors.” So I went over to take a look. Wow! What a body of work! Your “Story Stucture Database” is a staggering amount of work buy itself. Not hard to figure out why your site is dripping with awards. I signed up for everything but dishwasher. It doesn’t look like you spend enough time with meals to need a pearl diver. 🙂 This site is amazing. Do you have any help with it at all?

    Thank you,
    Curtiis

    • K.M. Weiland says:

Thank you, Curtis! That site has been a labor of love for me for a long time now. I get help from the occasional guest poster–and the Story Structure Database is always open for submissions!

  14. I’m loving your website and I’ve gotten a lot of help on my writing. Can’t wait to follow you on your new blog! 🙂

  15. Katie,

I’ve been writing your writing craft blog for several weeks, but didn’t realize you also had an author blog! What a treat!

What do I want to know about your life as a writer? Only everything. How you write. The process you use. How you sort through ideas and stay on track. All of that is of interest.

    • K.M. Weiland says:

Hah. Well, the reason you might not have known about it is that it didn’t really exist before this post. 😉 Thanks for the suggestions!

  16. Catherine H. says:

Cool! This looks like a really nice giveaway! Glad I finally get a chance to enter one.

  17. Thank you for all of your hard work at Helping Writers Becime Authors! I am happy for you it is so successful , but understand your need to make your fiction book site just as successful. I wish you the best in it all and I’ll help spread the word about the fiction site as well!

  19. I want to thank you for all the wonderful helpful advice you give. I wrote a sort of a blessing/poem, from one writer to another. 🙂
    A Blessing for a writer, from a writer… By Isabelle J.
    May your pen never empty,
    May your words always fly,
    May your books be published,
    May your stories come alive.
    May your music be helpful,
    and your procrastination short,
    May your paper be abundant,
    In your great writing fort.
May you always find joy, in the dark days to come,
May your characters be great, as they rise with the sun.
    May your snacks be abundant,
    May your spirits always soar,
    May your hope always rise,
    May your voice always roar.
From my pen to yours, I wish you the best,
and I hope in the future, You always find rest.

  20. This is excellent! Nicely done, Katie. 🙂

  21. Mikayla Sepúlveda says:

This is AMAZING. Do you think you’ll do any more giveaways in the future?

    • K.M. Weiland says:

Oh, definitely. I love giveaways. I do them all the time–especially around book launches. Storming comes out in December, so keep your eyes peeled around then!

  22. Just wanted to say thank you for the amazing tips and encouragement you share with other writers. Your insights are amazing and I always enjoy visiting your website. Kind Regards, -Dee
