Win a Reader Care Package!

READER CAREPACKAGE

Hey! Remember me? I think maybe we should reintroduce ourselves.

Hi Again

I already know who you are. You’re the totally awesome person who subscribed to my mailing list to receive updates and other goodies about my historical and speculative novels–including Behold the Dawn and Dreamlander.

I, on the other hand, am the one who has been sadly neglecting you all this time. But I figure it’s never too late to remedy that! In the future, you can expect to hear from me on a weekly basis. I’ll be sharing some behind the scenes info about my previous books as well as what I’m working on now. There will be peeks into what books, movies, music, gadgets, and adorable animals currently have my attention. And who knows what else!

I’m totally looking forward to it. (Why did we never do this before?) To get things off to the right start, let’s begin with your favorite—and mine: a giveaway!

This week only, I’ll be giving away a fantabulous Reader Care Package.

Win a Reader Care Package!

  1. I discovered you through Youtube. Your videos are very helpful to me as I begin my journey in crafting my novel. Thank you! I also look foward to reading your books (even if I don’t win the giveaway). I started reading The Memory Lights yesterday.

Hiya K.M Weiland! Marie Walker here, your biggest fan from Trinidad and Tobago! Your writing blogs have helped inspire me and helped me grow as a writer so much; they’re awesome! And this giveaway is such a great idea and it really shows your heart for your readers. That’s what this oh-so-rewarding but so amazingly complex art of word playing is about. Please keep the posts coming! Thanks again! God bless!

    • K.M. Weiland says:

Yay for international readers! I still remember the first time I learned about Trinidad and Tobago–when I was about twelve. I got a request for a sample of the newsletter I edited at that time. Had to look it up on the map. 😉

  3. Great prize 🙂 Hello from Scotland!

  4. What a great give away! And I’m curious to read what you’ll be posting here. It would be nice to get more insight on your writing process. Loved the fact that you used your own work in addition to others in your outlining & structure books. I think hearing more of that would be amazing. Thank you for all you are giving to our writing community.

    • K.M. Weiland says:

Glad you enjoyed the examples in the books! When my next novel Storming comes out this winter, I’ll also be releasing the full transcription of my outline for that book–if you’d like an even more in-depth of how my process works.

  5. Great idea! Really appreciate your posts on the writing craft.

I think it may cost you more to send me the Reader Care Package even if it is free. 😉 I’ll only be a little sad that I didn’t get something from my favorite blog star and writerly tutor on the journey to becoming a published author like she is – *groan*. But I can handle it. 😛

You know, I have asked you a few questions about but you never answered. Perhaps you wanted to keep that stuff a secret? 😉

    Anywho, have a great day!

This is simply a comment, and a compliment. No, I’m NOT sucking up, just thanking you. Because without thanks, the world would be a sad place indeed, and very little change for the better would be made. So, that being said:

A few years ago, I made a promise to myself: NO Twitter. There’s absolutely, positively NO reason to go on Twitter.
I broke my promise. Because, in the midst of friends gossiping about this celebrity’s tweet, and that celebrity’s tweet, I realized that through Twitter, I could strike gold. And, that gold is the opposite of the latest celebrity’s two-word update (sorry, not trying to be critical.). There are actually fantastic connections to writers, writing support groups, YOU, wildlife organizations, publishing companies, intellectual newspapers and magazines… The list goes on and on. You’re right there, center stage, in the mix. And your in good company. Or should I say THEY are in good company (as a part of the same social media as you).
And I am so very proud to be a part of it all. Your mentoring has worked its way into every facet of my writing. From Structure to Outline… you seem to have developed a phsychic mechanism of sorts, and it’s tendrils reach the pages of every writer struggling to be an author. Just as it reaches so many accomplished, well-established authors. You’re known by all, and respected by each of them – if they have any sense.
Today being my birthday, I reflected on what is most important. And the knowledge that someone so competent is willing to share what would, or could otherwise be kept secret (certainly for their own benefit), but chooses to share it with those in need instead, is proof that there are shreds of good in the world. Now THAT is a gift, indeed.
Hope you’re well on this beautiful 8th of August.
Thank you for this. Thank you for offering one of the chance at a really awesome package (Selfishly WANTING, WANTING, WANTING to WIN!!) And at the very least, allowing images of curling up in my cozy chair, finally able to read your fiction for the first time. *sigh*
Btw: Did I mention how much I LOVE cinnamon? ?

      Happy birthday!

And thank you very much for blessing me with your kind words today. 🙂 Definitely makes my day to hear you’ve found the info I’ve shared useful. And I agree: there may be a lot of junk on Twitter, but there’s also an *amazing* community of writers.

  8. This is a great giveaway, love it.

  9. Great marketing resource above, I’m sure; I’ve just added “The Frugal Book Promoter” to my Amazon wish list and will read it soon.
    Thanks,
    Collier

  10. Yes! Already subscribed to everything, but I’ll go ahead and enter. 😉

  11. Thank you so much for everything that you do! Your blog and podcasts and books have inspired me to keep writing and work towards my own goals of writing a book. Keep up the awesome work!!

  12. Kerrie Chamberlain says:

It’s so neat to see you continue to follow this dream and utilize the gifts God has given you! Keep it up!
    Blessings!

  13. Thank you so much, not only for this great giveaway, but for this amazing site. I have been dropping in frequently since I discovered this treasure trove of goodies all in one place.

  14. Lovely giveaway! Thanks for all your work on this helpful blog. =)

  15. Hey, thanks for the give away. I have been following you for sometime, and though I am always overwhelmed by the Science of Writing and all those plot points, one thing you emphasized sticks out for me: Reaction. It goes a long way to show without telling, the character’s trait and how much something means to them. Thanks!
And, how did you come to write your first novel? Is it somewhere I haven’t seen?
    Cheers.

    • K.M. Weiland says:

As a matter of fact, I’m going to talk a little bit about my early fiction in next Tuesday’s post. So stay tuned! Glad you’re enjoying the writing tips.

  16. Yay, I made it in time!

Thanks for everything you do. You are an inspiration. 🙂

  17. What a fabulous idea! Thanks for sharing your ideas and for the chance to win this cool bag-o-swag!
